Tech

We were learning about Sewing in tech with other students in Room 4.

I found it easy to sew the running stitch, the blanket stitch and back stitch.

I found it hard to knot my sewing when I finished or when I ran out of thread.

I really enjoyed sewing the bunny/monkey during Tech.

Next time I need to practice my knotting when I finished my sewing creation.

I really liked the way you gave us some insights into sewing tech at Matawai. Who teaches you sewing?
Maybe you could add a photo of your creation onto your blog - I'd loveto see the finished product.

    1. Dear Mrs Torrie,
thank you for asking the question.
The the person who taught us how to sew was Ann. Ann was a very nice person, she taught us the basics of sewing and how to use the sewing machine properly. Sewing tech was very fun with Ann. My Grand Mother and my Grand Father met them before, It was my mum's sewing teacher when she went to Matawai School!
      thank you for asking!

      goodbye,

Thank you for asking the question.
We actually have a tech room at school near the deck. Although it was actually a classroom way back then. We have Cooking tech, Sewing tech ad Woodwork.
Sewing and Cooking are next door to each other, so the cooking tech would be at the right of the building. Sewing would be at the left side of the building. And Woodwork would be at the play center.

Room 4 would usually go to tech every Wednesday after lunch time.
      Thank you for asking!

      goodbye

  3. Kia ora Ruby-Rhain,
I liked how you told us what was troubling you at tech.

What is the hardest thing to make that you've made at tech

the most difficult thing I have ever made was the bunny because I had to sew my bunny with the blanket stitch and the back stitch, I also had to sew the tummy and the ears onto my bunny. Although It was really fun to sew.

thank you for asking that question
      good bye,

Thank you for your positive, thoughtful, helpful comments.
Positive - something done well
Thoughtful - a sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what they had to say
Helpful - give some ideas for next time or ask a question you want to know more about
