This term in room 4 for our inquiry we are learning about nature and plants. A few children went to Kaiti hill to the workshop, they brought back some information about the plants. For example they learnt how to make Kawakawa into Rongoa (maori medicine), the essential rules of Harakeke, weaving harakeke and planting Kumara. But the rest of us carried on with our learning by presenting our work on posters based on what we learnt.
Have you ever weaved flax or made Kawakawa Rongoa? Because it is actually good for curing illness.
